I arrived there a few minutes after nine and got a tour around the playschool from my employer. I was sent upstairs to work with the children. I got the youngest category, there was a range of two and a half to three and a half year old! They were really cute! I was with them for three hours and I had a great time! There was eight kids in the class, four boys and four girls. The only problem I had was communicating with three of them as they had no English at all.
We started off the day with letting them have 'free play' where they got a chance to play with the toys and other children. Most of them got on well together but there was a little tension between others! After that we got them reading and then colouring. They colored in chickens which brought us onto Lunch time! They all had their snack and made a complete mess! so it was clean up time for me :L
The day followed through with a sing song and playing musical instruments where we went around the table playing our instruments along with the beat! :) they absolutely loved it !!!
When music time was finished, it was time to finish off those chickens! so I painted each of their hands yellow and they placed them down at the side of the chickens body to give it a 'wing' effect! their hands were filthy so we had to wash them all up!
The day ended with 'Story Time' when we read to the children. The story was about the zoo, so it helped them learn their animals :) after the story it was Home Time, so we put on our coats and packed our bags!
We waited downstairs for their parents to arrive, which ended my first day of work experience! I had a great day, and I can't wait to go back next week! Hopefully the Children will remember me :)
